GATE AEROSPACE 2022 Admissions

GATE AEROSPACE 2022 ADMISSIONS

As official keys for GATE Aerospace 2022 are out, and many questions / doubts are coming  from students like

-  What will be the cut off this year?
- What rank I can expect with these marks?
- Will I get admission in IIT/ IISc with this score?

Let’s try to answer these questions step by step.

First thing to keep in mind is, GATE AEROSPACE 2022 is not straight forward as it looks.
- Many Multiple select questions in exam – which definitely will reduce marks and Score
- Many Numerical answer type questions - which took considerable amount of time, and hence  less no. of questions attempted by students.
Structures and Mathematics questions were on lengthy side which again took more time for  students.

So, in general we can expect less marks and score for GATE AEROSPACE 2022 compared to previous  year results.

In GATE AEROSPACE 2021 - Cut – off marks were
- 26.30/100 marks for General
- 23.6/100 marks for OBC/NCL
- 17.5/100 marks for SC/ST/PwD
Securing above marks you will be qualifying the exam but it’s very difficult to get the admissions into  IISc and IITs. As a rough estimate, usually 50 marks will give you around AIR – 100 with a score of 650  – 680, if taken an average for almost 14 years. In GATE AE 2021 (Last Year) – 50 marks was standing  at around AIR 70 with a GATE score of around 680.

The major reason of better rank with less marks last year, is directly related to the format of the 2021  question paper. Multiple select questions introduced for the 1st time, many NATs and conceptual  questions. We can expect cut off for GATE AEROSPACE 2022 at around 26(General), with around 45  marks as top 100 rank, it will be almost similar to 2021 or slightly less.

Getting into IITs/IISc with this score, make sure while filling the form the sequence of courses (eg: Structures in IITB, Propulsion in IITM) you select are as per your marks.  Your choices will  have a huge impact on whether you will get an offer in the end. A person with higher rank  and low score can end up with an admission in IIT/IISc with proper choice (Sequence) of  college and course while filling the form. Also make sure, you keep track on MS forms  released on department level by IIT/IISc, don’t miss out the last dates

We will be posting a series of articles to help students in coming days for filling forms, do’s  and don’ts and reminding important points.
